What are your favorite themes of poetry?

I have a poetry project and we need to find poems based on a certain theme, and the three themes I came up were:

1) Insanity
2) Alternate views of reality
3) Woman and what happens when they don’t conform to their stereotypical roles.

I still can’t figure out which one I like better : P

How about you? What are your favorite themes in poetry?
Thanks Deep Floyd : D
Beatle fanatoc: haha, I’m not that obvious. Actually, I am.

You know Sarita I am a romantic at heart…and LOVE makes the world go round…..but of the ones you give as alternatives I would choose

Alternate views of reality

It seems very adequate because the reality as we see it can have so many different ways to be looked at, to be felt to be exposed and digested…
go for it!!!

  4. Hi sarsar,
It might surprise you to find me here, but I do enjoy poetry. My favorite theme is nature and/or the seasons. Robert Frost is perhaps a too-obvious example for that, but I like his poems. Must be from living in New England for 24 years. Japanese Haiku, especially some attributed to Basho, can be excellent on this subject as well.

    Hi Sarsar!

I’m surprised you wouldn’t pick a music theme!
