Snakes – Symbian S60 3rd Edition – Nokia E61

Snakes is Nokia’s 3D reworking of their classic phone game Snake. The first lower resolution version of Snakes was released for the original N-Gage and N-Gage QD in 2004.

The version shown here is the higher resolution version for Symbian S60 3rd Edition devices, and the device being used is the Nokia E61. It also works on any other S60 3rd Edition device, such as the N95.

    The original N-Gage version had an online high score table, but this re-release doesn’t have one so there’s no way of knowing the records.

    I just tried to look up the walkthrough on Nokia’s N-gage site but they’ve taken it down! :-(

    It seems they’ve removed all the info about the old N-Gage games to make way for the new ones.

    Yes. This is a freeware game for all S60 3rd Edition Nokia smartphones, you can get it by going to the official European Nokia 5700 support page’s phone software section. That file should work on all S60 3rd Edition smartphones.

    I can’t post the URL because Youtube blocks them in comments, but search Google for Nokia 5700 Support and it should be the first result.

    That wasn’t exactly me at my best. I had to play it while simultaneously keeping the phone absolutely steady and continually checking to make sure the camera stayed in focus. :-)
