Watering Ferns
Ferns with a few exceptions are not water loving plants. In fact many species of ferns prefer to lightly dry out moisture between each watering schedule and this includes Boston fern and its relatives as well as the footed ferns. However tree ferns, maidenhair ferns, wood ferns, button and brake ferns, which are other fern species, which will wilt, if they are allowed to dry out. The amount of water, which each fern species would require during cultivation, is often only due to a trial and error method.
