What are some of the real-life applications of studying resistance, power out in a circuit and current? What makes them relevant?
Also, what is the significance of Power out vs Resistance chart where the chart max out when R=r?

What is a cellphone with good applications but doesn’t necessarily need the internet?

I have looking for a cellphone that has a wide array of applications, a good camera and is easy to text with though doesn’t really need to operate with the internet. I’m hoping to buy a new cellphone but I can’t really afford a data plan w/ internet. What’s the best phone with the best features but doesn’t necessarily need internet to use these applications? I use T-Mobile by the way.

Samsung Behold… great phone… Either that or get a blackberry

How to make applications not start on startup ?

Always if i restart my comp i get too many applications open up, how to turn it off ?

Hi there,

There are several ways to stop applications from starting up. Most will have the option in setting of the application which can be switced off. If not then you can be a little more forcefull:

Way 1:
Open windows explorer (right click on the start button and left click explore. Navigate to the folder called "Startup" and remove the applications from there, these are only shortcuts so wont damage the actual programs.

Way 2:
Use MSCONFIG to prevent the services from starting. To do this click on the start button and click on run. Type in msconfig and click OK. This will bring a tabbed box up and you need to select the startup tab. Deselect the application that you don’t want to start. This is a good tool for diagnosing applications that are having problems.

What are some applications for our soil conducting electricity science experiment?

We are doing an experiment on why soil conducts electricity. Our procedure is to place a 9V battery in 3 inches deep of soil and place the multimeter needles on top of the soil and see how much voltage there is. Mud gave us the most voltage with 0.2 V out of the 9V battery and dry soil gave the least (0.03V). We want to know some applications that this is useful to and to the world

Sounds like the moisture content was the reason why mud conducted better. Cows standing under a tree in a thunder storm have been killed in 4 directions from the tree. Has anything been done to test electrical stimulation to root growth, it increases bone growth.

How to save applications to memory card instead of phone for blackberry curve?

I’d like to save room on my phone by saving my applications to the memory card instead. Is this possible? I saw one review saying it is not, but that was posted almost 2 yrs ago.

Any advice? (and please no negative "get rid of your phone" comments)

The memory card is used for media only, applications can not be run from there. (It is possible to use the card as a mass storage dvice, so you can put any data you want on there, you just can’t run from it.)

the newer BlackBerrys have more internal memory so you can put more on them.

How to add an applications tab on the new facebook?

I want to add a separate tab for the Pieces of Flair application on the new facebook. But whenever I click on the plus sign next to "add an application tab," pieces of flair doesn’t show up on the pull down menu. I’m an active user of this application, so I don’t understand why this is so. When I click "find more applications," I can find Pieces of Flair easily, but it doesn’t have anything for adding a special tab.
Please help?

If Pieces of Flair doesn’t show up after you click the plus sign, it means that application isn’t able to handle being a whole tab. In other words, it’s creators only made the application available to show up as a box on your profile and not as its own tab.

To double check, click this:

Now look for the Pieces of Flair application. Click the pencil icon that’s to the right of it. Then click "Edit Settings." Now click "Profile." If that app can be added as a tab, there should be an option that says Tab with a blue link that says "add." If you don’t see Tab, it can’t be added as one — it can only be a box on your Boxes tab on your profile.
